>Linux is Getting Prettier Every Day

This is the Xgl window server running on SuSe 10.1 BUT you can download the Kororaa LiveCD if you’d like to try this out for yourself without having to install anything. I’m about to myself…
Update: Yes it’s very nice indeed. The only feature that wasn’t working was the “peel” feature to see what’s behind part of a window. Not sure why not. Also, as with my other experiences with LiveCD’s, this one crashed. In fact it crashed more than LiveCD’s usually do for me. Knoppix STD LiveCD would crash like 30% of the time AT MOST and this one is like 75% of the time. But it is worth it just to see how awesome the graphical features are. Too bad Steam doesn’t run under Linux :(

>Yeah, it’s kind of funny how Linux caught up to, passed, and trounced anything from Microsoft in one bound, then caught up to, passed, then trounced anything from Apple, at the same time…oh, and managed to do it with hardly breaking a sweat it would seem. What’s next? MS-DOS comes back as the only OS to support the only GeForce 8200GTX 2048MB of DDR4 RAM that will only work in an ISA slot? Granted, it’ll need about 20 sets of jumpers for IRQ, DMA, and 18 others that I cannot remember off the top of my head!

>ha. yes. jumpers aren’t dead yet tho. my geforce 8200GTX-dx14 is of the MCA flavor and runs much better with a math-coprocessor. plus, you don’t need himem.sys anymore with that much RAM.
